 Music teacher and saxophonist Joel Dullard has a unique mix of skills that make him the perfect leader for the Red Hot Rhythmakers reeds section. His polished playing and thorough musical knowledge, honed while playing in pit orchestras for theatrical productions, add much to the group’s sound, and his alto sax solos show a clear understanding of the playing of Jimmy Dorsey and Johnny Hodges. Joel is also an expert soprano sax player, and doubles on clarinet and trumpet too.
